Bishop’s feast

Saaremaa Muuseum Teenused Bishop’s feast

Medieval feast in Kuressaare Castle

Candlelight shadows play on the ancient vaults of the fortress. The delicious aroma of oriental spices can be felt. Dishes prepared according to historical recipes are served from platters and three-legged scrapers, wine is poured from jugs and drunk from goblets. Food is eaten with bread, with a forged knife as the only “helper”. The majordomo, who leads the evening, gives an explanation of the table and dining customs of the time. The bishop of Saare-Lääne will greet the guests and music typical of the era will be played.
